It has been a long, strange trip for Stelco Holdings Inc.
The Hamilton, Ont. steelmaker has a history stretching back more than 100 years, and one that includes two tumbles into creditor protection this century alone.
The company entered the scene at first as Stelco in 2004, before being bought three years later by United States Steel Corp. and renamed U.S. Steel Canada Inc.
U.S. Steel Canada then re-entered creditor protection in 2014, re-emerging last year after it was bought by private equity firm Bedrock Industries and named Stelco once more.
